Export (Part)
STEP
The STEP export function in part mode is triggered directly from the multitool ribbon. The program exports the active part to a STEP file, using the user-defined STEP export settings.
By default, the name of the part file is also used as the name of the STEP file. However, the name generator can be used to generate other file names that may include iProperty values from the respective model file. Three separate name configurations can be defined for each file type, and when the "STP 1", "STP 2", and "STP 3" buttons are clicked, the corresponding configuration is used.
PDF, DWG, DXF
The part conversion functions for PDF, DWG, and DXF operate on the same principle. The program internally searches for drawings that reference the active part. Depending on the selected search settings, it either searches only in the location of the part file for a drawing with the same name, or it searches for part references in all drawings within the active Inventor project.
During the export of the drawing, the current export settings for PDF/DXF/DWG are used.
By default, the name of the drawing file is used as the name of the exported PDF/DXF/DWG file. However, the name generator can be used to generate other file names that may include iProperty values from the respective drawing file. Three separate name configurations can be defined for each file type, and when the "PDF 1", "PDF 2", and "PDF 3" buttons are clicked, the corresponding configuration is used (DXF and DWG follow the same pattern).
